The Investigative Area Con Dao

Located on Ton Duc Thang Street, visitors can walk or travel by car to visit the area which was built by the French colonialists and used for housing. However, it was used as an investigative area and to save interrogation documents in the US-puppet times. It consists of three blocks: Block A is also called the standing room; Block B is also called a record store; Block C is also called the torture chamber. There are also detention rooms and toilets. Prisoners before being sent to any cell will be brought in for interrogation. Depending on the level of danger of the prisoners, they would be transferred to different cemps. There are also cases where prisoners in camps are suspected of preparing for violence or taking steps to guard the prisoners. If the prisoners appear to be stubborn, they are beaten and placed in temporary solitary confinement.
