Ma Thien Lanh Bridge - Cau Ma Thien Lanh Con Dao

From Con Dao town center, walking along Vo Thi Sau street to the end of the road, tourists will have to take a small road to visit the Ma Thien Lanh Bridge relics. Ma Thien Lanh bridge was built in 1930, where there are still two unfinished abutments. The French colonialists opened the road from Nui Chua intersection to Ong Dung beach in order to exploit wood and stone used to build many constructions such as prisons, public offices ... and setting up checkpoints to prevent prisoners from escaping. Due to the mountainous terrain, epidemics, hunger and disease, it is calculated that 356 prisoners died here, this number is only a convention. Ma Thien Lanh is named after the mount Ma Thien Lanh in North Korea by a prisoner.
